Risk factors associated with the appearance of chronic rhinosinusitis with or without polyps. Researchers are trying to learn more about the personal and environmental factors. Therefore, they are conducting long-term studies in patient populations to better characterise the disease’s evolution.
To identify the factors that cause the bacterial infection to persist in certain patients and the possible role of any bacteria that remain dormant.
To determine the genetic characteristics that make some individuals more susceptible to the disease than others, so new drugs can be developed to act directly at this level.
