Prognosis of Brain Tumour
Life expectancy is a difficult concept to apply to patients with brain cancer as the biomolecular characteristics of each tumour and the success of any treatments vary greatly between cases.
In general, low-grade tumours have a better prognosis, meaning patients can gradually return to a normal lifestyle. Despite this, however, patients will need to undergo MRI check-ups and be monitored for the rest of their lives, although appointments will become increasingly less frequent. Any clinical or radiological changes detected during this follow-up process will be analysed and dealt with by an expert neuro-oncology panel.
